Privacy

Macro Mommy is a personal, invite-only project built for one household of family and friends — not a company or a commercial product. This page explains what happens to your data in plain terms.

Not a medical or HIPAA-compliant system

This is a hobby project, not a healthcare provider. It is not HIPAA-compliant and nothing here should be treated as medical advice or a medical record. Use it because it’s useful, not because it’s certified for anything.

What’s stored

Depending on what you use, the app stores:

  • Your profile: name, timezone, goals, and the numbers that drive your targets.
  • Meals you log, including any photos you take of food or nutrition labels.
  • Workouts, body measurements, and progress photos you add or import.
  • Wearable data from connected sources like Apple Health and Whoop (heart rate, sleep, recovery, activity).
  • Calendar events, read-only, only after you connect Google Calendar yourself.
  • Lab reports you upload and the results extracted from them.
  • How much AI usage each feature costs, so spend can be capped and reviewed.

Where it lives

Data sits in a hosted Supabase database and file storage, and the app itself runs on Vercel. When you use an AI feature — reading a meal photo, a lab PDF, or chatting with the coach — the photo or text you submit is sent to Anthropic’s API to be processed and is not used to train anyone else’s model.

Who can see what

Your data is private by default. You can choose to share specific categories (like workouts or your weight trend) with another invited person — nothing more, and nothing you haven’t turned on. Lab results are never shareable, under any setting.

Export and delete

You can ask for a full export of your data or to have your account and every file deleted at any time. In-app export and delete tools are planned; until then, ask and it’ll be handled by hand.

Questions

Ask the person who invited you — they’re also the site owner and the one running the infrastructure this app sits on.
